This is the start of your swim journey! Bath babies helps prepare both you and baby for the big pool. Using lots of nurturing touch and connection, this post-natal class starts your baby on the path of water confidence as you and they get familiar with songs and movements. You can leave the swimsuit at home and come along and meet other parents and caregivers as you begin your adventure together. In addition to our bath practices, we also cover baby massage, mindfulness techniques and CPR for infants and educate parents on drowning prevention, ensuring you feel empowered to handle any water-related emergencies.
Perfect for babies looking for a gentle start to baby swimming. I guide parents to be confident holding, moving and floating with baby in the water. Together we’ll encourage them to kick their legs, and develop their swimming arms on the surface. We also look at swim safety skills like; holding on, safety turns and gentle dips, when they are ready.
We focus on water confidence with lots more toys, equipment & splashes! We also look at developing our swim safety skills like; holding on, monkeying around the pool, back rides, safety turns and gentle dips. However, the focus remains on learning through play and having lots of fun!
We focus on promoting water confidence, safety and independence. Helping them to progress towards independent swimming. However, the emphasis remains on learning through play and having fun to ensure your toddler loves the time you spend together in the pool! Our toddlers love the big mat, splashing in and playing games!
Children will develop their water confidence and learn how to be safe and independent in the water, further enhancing their swimming skills to prepare them for independent swimming lessons. Parents are in the water supporting their child and will start to gradually move to the side to watch their little one’s transformation! Some weeks we alternate with themed lessons to keep lessons fresh and exciting!
I welcomes anyone with a special need; in most cases children with additional needs can join in with the scheduled group lessons. I also offer relaxed parent & child sessions, particularly beneficial for swimmers 3 - 6 years with autism or SEN needs who prefer a quieter environment. Please note that your child doesn't need a diagnosis to attend. These sessions prioritise reducing stress by minimising sound levels and limiting the number of swimmers in the pool.
This class is for children 4-6 years who may have attended our parent & child classes and are transitioning into independent lessons. In big swimmers we take things slowly and support this transition while parents can proudly watch from reception. We develop water confidence, safety skills, and key swimming skills with a focus on; learning how to be safe and independent in the water. Our big swimmers love to star float and push off the wall like rockets!
This class is for children 4-7 years who have good water confidence. In stage 2 we develop safety skills, and key swimming skills with a focus on; kicking on their front and back for 5 metres. Our big swimmers love to jump in, roll from back to front and learn how to pick up sinkies!
This class is for children 5-8 years who have good water confidence and can swim front & back 5m unaided. In stage 3 we focus on; kicking 7+ metres and slowly introduce arm action on both back and front. Our big swimmers love to jump in, star float and pick up sinkies!
This class is for children 5-8 years who can swim front & back with arm action 7m unaided. Our final stage will prepare your child to transition to a larger pool. In stage 4 we further develop our strength and stamina with a focus on; breathing showing good technique, breast stroke leg kick and swimming with full stroke.
In addition to my swim classes, I also offer paediatric first aid training and informal workshops for families and children. These sessions equip participants with life-saving skills
For this fee, your little one will also receive swimming milestones including woven badges and A4 certificates throughout the year.
Swimming lessons run 40 weeks per year and cost £13.50, with the option to spread payments over 12 monthly affordable payments at £45 per month. Let me ask you this. Is getting your child water confident worth that to you?
You will also have the opportunity to come along to one-off seasonal splash sessions to raise money for MFR Cash for Kids.
I also run an optional summer school for families who want to keep swimming in the holidays. Pre-booking is required for these sessions, which are not included in the monthly subscription and must be booked separately.
Hope to see you in the pool soon but please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about whether my swim membership is right for you.
